This pure tea tree oil is derived from the leaves of the tea tree, so named by 18th century sailors who made tea that smelled like nutmeg from the leaves of the tree growing on the swampy southeast Australian coast.
To enjoy a room purifying blend, simply combine a drop of organic tea tree oil and grapefruit oil with 10 drops of organic lemon oil in a diffuser and enjoy.Besides its aromatherapy benefit, pure tea tree oil may also assist with a range of skin conditions. The oil may kill off fungi and bacteria, as well as reduce allergic skin reactions.
It can be applied to the skin for such skin conditions as acne, warts, fungal infections of the nail, and athlete&s foot. It may also be used as a local antiseptic for cuts and abrasions, for burns, insect bites and stings and boils. And tea tree oil may also help with head lice.
Before it is used on any of these conditions, however, pure tea tree oil should be carefully diluted with a carrier oil, such as jojoba, grapeseed, olive or almond.
Some people will also add pure tea tree oil to bath water to help ease coughs, bronchial congestion, and pulmonary issues.
