- Two primary strains in the small and large intestine
- Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium bifidum
L. acidophilus ferments lactose and a variety of other sugars and polysaccharides aiding digestion and lowering the pH of intestinal contents.
B. bifidum is normally present in large numbers. Its populations are reduced or absent in allergic infants and elderly adults. B. bifidum suppresses total and antigen-specific IgE production and enhances IgM and IgG responses to select antigens.
B. bifidum enhances leukocyte phagocytic activity. It can activate B cells making them more responsive for IgA secretion. B. bifidum enhances IgA response to C. difficile toxin A.
Together L. acidophilus and B. bifidum prevent overgrowth of pathogenic bacteria and yeast and in a clinical study have been found to support the intestines against antibiotic-associated diarrhea and reduce the incidence of positive testing for C. difficile-associated toxins.
Suggested Usage
1 capsule, 1 to 2 times daily with food or as directed by a healthcare professional.
Refrigerate and keep tightly closed to maintain product potency.

-Lacidophilus 2.5 billion CFU
-Bifidobacterium bifidum 2.5 billion CFU
Other Ingredients: Vegetarian capsule (hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, water) and L-leucine.
Free of the following common allergens: milk/casein, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, gluten, and soybeans. Contains no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives.
