Product Details

Brand: NOW Foods
Category: Fragrance Oil
Product Code: patchouli-essential-oil-NOW
Patchouli Oil has an earthy, musky aroma that has the rare distinction of improving with age - the older the oil, the fuller the scent. It provides harmony to the body and spirit, and can even fight off body odor by performing as both a deodorant and antiperspirant.

Patchouli has been used as an insect repellent, aphrodisiac, antibacterial, and antifungal. Patchouli also has the ability to diminish appetite, making it a friend to dieters all over the globe.

In the 19th century, the British learned to identify patchouli as it was used to scent imported fabrics from India. While the musky, earthy scent of patchouli is most associated with fabrics, it has many therapeutic properties as well.

Mixes well with: Allspice, Atlas cedarwood, bergamot, cedarwood, cinnamon, clary sage, frankincense, geranium, ginger, grapefruit, lavender, orange, myrrh, palmarosa, pine, rose, rosewood, sandalwood, tangerine, and ylang ylang.

Suggested Usage

For aromatherapy use. For all other uses, carefully dilute with a carrier oil such as jojoba, grapeseed, olive, or almond oil prior to use. Please consult an essential oil book or other professional reference source for suggested dilution ratios.

Natural essential oils are highly concentrated and should be used with care.

Ingredients

  • Pure patchouli oil

Warnings

  • Avoid contact with eyes.
  • Not for internal use.

If pregnant or lactating, consult your healthcare practitioner before using.

Keep out of reach of children.

    Make a anticellulite bath oil

I use to work for a company/clinic that stocked most these brands of essential oils. Im familar with them all. This Patchouli is a great oil. Im giving you the following formula to create a anticellulite bath oil.:8 drops of Patchouli16 drops of SageBlend well. Add 6 drops of blend to bath! There are 3 diff essential oil combinations that will be posted elsewhere . That is effective on cellulite (If you prefer a diff smell)I will try to leave a formula to share with all of my fellow NHC customers as I review the oils! They are fun to make and experiment with. (Formulas recommended or created and tested by A Family of Acupuncturists and Chiropractors) Enjoy!

    Agree

I agree with the other reviewers. Not as potent as I am used to, but still a great choice.

    Good choice for a budget

I love most of the NOW products that I've used over the years, including their essential oils. This patchouli is maybe a bit less potent than a more expensive brand, however, it's a good quality substitute if you can't afford the premium brands. I use NOW oils both topically and for aromatherapy with great results.

    Does NOT smell like patchouli

I'm very disappointed with this oil. I was excited to get this so cheap, but buyer beware - spend a little more for the good stuff.
