DL-Phenylalanine contains the essential amino acid L-phenylalanine, a natural mood enhancer, and D-phenylalanine.
DL-Phenylalanine may increase the production of phenylethylamine, which resembles the stimulant drug amphetamine. A phenylethylamine deficiency may cause poor mood states.
