About Skratch Labs
While working as a sports scientist and coach for a professional cycling team, Dr. Allen Lim began creating his own training food and sports drinks from scratch for the cyclists. The pre-packaged sports bars and drinks available were filled with artificial ingredients, often causing stomach issues. Dr. Lim started diluting their sports drinks to reduce sugar concentration and added extra salt and electrolytes to replace what was lost in sweat. Eventually, he developed a "secret drink mix" in his kitchen, featuring a recipe with less sugar, more sodium, and no artificial additives, using real fruit for a clean taste.
Word of the "Secret Drink Mix" quickly spread, and it became clear that the demand extended beyond cyclists and endurance athletes. Race car drivers, rock climbers, concerned parents, Peace Corps workers, and active individuals seeking healthy alternatives were eager to purchase the product and learn more. To meet this demand, Allen assembled a team of close friends and founded Skratch Labs in Boulder, Colorado. The mission of Skratch Labs is straightforward – to develop and sell great-tasting food and drinks made from real ingredients that address the needs of active people.
