Natural Factors Peppermint and Oregano Oil Complex, formulated by Dr Michael Murray, provides support for gastrointestinal health.
This complex contains extracts of peppermint, oregano and caraway seed in an enteric-coated capsule.
The enteric coating allows the formula to be released into the small intestine and colon instead of the stomach, for improved absorption and utilization by the body.
Peppermint Oil
An aromatic herb, peppermint is actually a hybrid plant made by combining two other types of mint: watermint and spearmint.
Peppermint oils healthful properties come from its menthol.
Peppermint may act as a carminative for the digestive system, meaning that it helps ease gas, bloating, and indigestion.
The herb may help relax the muscles of the gastrointestinal tract so they are less spastic.
Peppermint may also reduce irritation in the stomach and intestines, which is why it may help with irritable bowel syndrome.
Oregano
Oregano oil, meanwhile, may have strong antimicrobial, and milder antispasmodic, properties, but it is also known as an antioxidant and mild stimulant.
