About MacuGuard:
Carotenoids are antioxidant pigments found naturally in many vegetables - such as carrots - and are necessary for maintaining normal eye health. They can help filter out excess blue and ultraviolet rays and help protect the macula - a yellow spot on the retina which is naturally composed of the carotenoids lutein and zeaxanthin.
As we age, our bodies may need more of these antioxidants to maintain eye health. While carotenoids, including lutein and zeaxanthin, are found in many foods, meso-zeaxanthin isn't easy to get in large quantities through diet alone and may be crucial when it comes to supporting macular health.
Because carotenoids are fat soluble, this supplement includes phospholipids, which are important for maintaining cell membrane health and aiding absorption and systemic circulation of lutein, zeaxanthin and meso-zeaxanthin.
